Workmanship Warranty
Twelve months on everything Habitask builds, repairs, installs or finishes. What's covered, what isn't, and how to claim.
The promise
If our workmanship fails within twelve months, we come back and fix it. No charge, no argument, no hourly minimum.
That is the whole warranty. Everything below is detail about how it works, not conditions designed to get us out of it.
What is covered
- Workmanship on anything we built, repaired, installed or finished — for twelve months from the day the work was completed.
- Fasteners, joints and connections we made that loosen, separate or fail in normal use.
- Finishes we applied that fail prematurely — peeling, lifting or separating well short of what the product should give at altitude.
- Anything we installed that we installed wrong.
- Manufacturer warranties on materials and fixtures we supply are passed through to you in full, and we will handle the claim with the manufacturer on your behalf for the first twelve months.
What is not covered
- Normal wear, and normal seasonal movement in a building at altitude.
- Damage from weather events, falling trees, wildlife, impact, fire or water intrusion unrelated to our work.
- Failure of existing structure or materials we worked around but did not replace — though if we saw it coming, it will be on your report under Watch.
- Work altered, added to or repaired by someone else after we left.
- Materials or fixtures you supplied, beyond our workmanship in installing them.
- Consumables and items with an obvious service life — filters, bulbs, batteries, caulk in a wet area.
- Licensed electrical and plumbing work performed by our partners. That carries their warranty, and we will put you straight in touch with them and stay on the thread until it is sorted.
How to make a claim
Call or text. Tell us what is wrong, send a photo if you can. There is no form and no claims department.
- We will respond within one business day.
- If it can wait for your next scheduled visit and you are happy for it to, it goes on that list.
- If it cannot wait, it is scheduled as a priority visit.
- If it is unsafe or actively causing damage, we treat it as P1 and move the route.
Keep your invoice or service report — it establishes the completion date. If you cannot find it, we have it, and we will look it up.
If we disagree
Sometimes it is genuinely unclear whether a failure is our workmanship or something else. When that happens we will come and look, at no charge, and tell you honestly what we think and why. If it is a close call, we will resolve it in your favour. A twelve-month warranty is worth nothing if it is defended like an insurance policy.
Care plan members
If your property is on a care plan, warranty items are caught before you notice them. Every visit re-inspects our own previous work as a matter of course, and anything moving in the wrong direction is fixed on the spot or put on the plan.
Colorado construction defect law
This warranty is in addition to whatever rights Colorado law gives you, not instead of them. Colorado sets its own statutory time limits for construction defect claims, which are longer than twelve months for some kinds of work. Nothing here shortens or waives them.
Transferring the warranty
If you sell the property within the warranty period, the remaining warranty transfers to the new owner. Tell us and we will move the service record across. A documented maintenance history is worth something at closing.
